Memories
Written By: David Richard Williams – 11th August 2013

Time heals open wounds,
And eventually scars may fade.
For memories however,
They are played and played and played.

It’s almost always the good ones,
Hardly ever the bad.
Like a contract so hard to get out of,
Its burnt in ironclad.

I remember when you would hold my hand,
Like you’d never let it go.
And that every time we would kiss,
How much your face did glow.

I remember what it felt like,
To be so in love.
A feeling so God sent,
Like it all came from above.

Then I snap back to reality,
With my inner pain in remiss.
And I ask myself one question,
Does she remember this?

Remember when you held my hand,
Like you’d never let it go?
Remember every time we kissed,
How much your face did glow?
